During the conference 2006 the EICAR board approved the establishment of a taskforce in biometrics. Please see our taskforces page for details and contact information.

Die Taskforce RFID stellt ihren Datenschutzleitfaden vor. Das Richtlinienpapier beschäftigt sich neben technischen und organisatorischen Aspekten in erster Linie mit datenschutzrelevanten Betrachtungen in Bezug auf den praktischen Einsatz von RFID-Lösungen. Damit unterstützt EICAR vor allem Unternehmen, die in Zukunft RFID-Projekte umsetzen. Sie erhalten genaue Informationen auf welche datenschutzrelevante Aspekte beim Einsatz von RFID zu achten ist. Der Leitfaden kann als Anhang an AGB's oder Projektverträgen herangezogen werden und dient dem Unternehmer somit als Prüfzeichen in punkto Datenschutz.

On Wednesday 3rd May there will be two special workshops addressing issues around security awareness and content security. Attendance to these workshops is free of charge, however, registration is required!

The German Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) invites to a symposium titled: "Phishing and Online-Banking" taking place on 27. April 2006 at the 'Zentrum für IT-Sicherheit' in Bochum, Germany.

As part of the lead-in to the conference an interesting panel on Sunday afternoon titled 'Birds of a Feather Flock Together: affinity groups in the world of malware' will take place. The topic in combination with the panel members promises a very interesting discussion setting the spirit right for the days to follow. Tuesday 2nd May will address specifically Managers and Leaders highlighting the requirement to establish computer security awareness at the highest levels. Don't miss that chance.

The first version of the conference schedule is online. Please expect changes to occur. You will notice, that the conference starts already on Sunday afternoon, and a special Task Forces day was added on Wednesday !

The deadline for non-academic papers has been extended to last until 9 December 2005 and the acceptance notification was moved accordingly to 23 December 2005. All authors wishing to submit a paper (academic opr non-academic) are requested to do so using our Conference Paper Submission System.
